My book, FAT is not who she is, is one big sassy essay. It is in the form of what is typically referred to as a collage presentation incorporating private diary entries, blog posts, photos, emails and inspirations. Probably not like anything you’ve seen or read before. Little did I know that keeping “secret” diaries or entering the blogging community would one day lead to this, a book about my journey from disordered eating and poor body image to reclaiming a healthy relationship with food and my body. A somewhat confronting road travelled but one so worth the freedom it has delivered. By writing my story and “putting it out there,” the message I want to get across is that our bodies are NEVER the problem!
To FAT and back is the sequel to FAT is not who she is. I thought I was fully recovered but little did I know there was still more work to be done. What better way to work through it than to write about it whilst I travelled the world. To FAT and back is my whole story. It is now completion for me. I couldn’t leave it as unfinished business. My message in this book is simple, “our weight is only a symptom of the real problem.”
